Seeking work in Manchester, Lancashire and Cheshire
Since the return of my manager from maternity leave my role has not changed dramatically – my responsibilities include supporting her and making sure the salon is running effectively and building the business while being in treatments full time. Responsibilities which are specifically assigned to me include- Retail Stock take, Rotas, Health and Safety, Occupancy reporting, maintaining the voucher log, overseeing the diary, day to day running of the salon, updating and monitoring the therapists target diary and rather ambiguously ‘anything required by Head Office’ . In addition to this I have also taken on Duty Manager shifts to allow me to develop professionally within the Leisure Industry.

Beauty Spa Manager – Maternity Cover – The Tytherington Club
As a result of my strong performance and service driven ethics, I was promoted to cover the role of manager of Aura. The roles – by no means a conclusive list – involve stock control, payroll, overseeing the high standards expected in a 5* environment, supervising staff and ensuring treatments are conducted to the highest standard. I enjoy good working relationships with my colleagues and enjoy motivating the team to achieve the results expected from the company and have increased department turnover and profitability. Due to good communication skills, I often get elected to deliver courses to large groups including my own team and others within the leisure club.

Beauty Therapist – The Tytherington Club
I am an original member of the Aura team, which involved inheriting an empty salon and making it fit to serve our clients. Over the last two years I have been instrumental in building the business and have an outstanding record for having repeat clients – which I firmly believe is due to exemplary client care and being able to identify consumer need. This in turn has resulted in high retail revenue. I have strongly supported the salon manager who relies on me to assist with the day to day running of the salon. Due to my commitment to one of our product brands I was elected to become a specialist liaison therapist which involved offering support to the other therapists, offering technical support, training subjects within the product brand, driving retail sales and maintaining communication with the Business Manager.

I worked on a part time basis covering all treatments, alongside my future manager at The Tytherington Club. Unfortunately the standards of the hotel did not meet my own and I felt it compromised my professional integrity.

While still finishing my level 3 NVQ in Beauty Therapy, I secured a position at Dove Spa (formerly Re-Aqua). This was a sumptuous day spa offering 5* treatments and allowed me to advance from a newly qualified therapist to one displaying confidence and expertise.
