Being a beauty therapist is not something I feel you can just train in. Being caring and passionate about everything you do is what makes someone a great therapist and it cannot be forced.
I love being around people and making them feel good about themselves. It is an amazing industry to be in as you get to make feel confident and glowing with every treament.
In february 2012 I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for cancer research, raising over £7,000 which was the best week of my life. That week has really enhanced a lot of my qualities and it is an achievement I will always be proud of.
I have been working for myself as a mobile beauty therapist since 2009. I have to be very flexible with my hours and work completely around my clients.
My day consists of manicures, pedicures, threading, waxing and different types of massage.

I was a beauty therapist as well as a retailer. I carried out treatments such as manicures, pedicures, waxing, tinting, massages and facials. I then would work at the retail and reception area serving clients and retailing Elemis and Champney's products to clients, always reaching my £50 a day retail target.
I also worked at Champney's events once, sometimes twice a week. This would consist of carrying out express facials, manicures and pedicures as well as retailing products to the clients.

This was 1 week work experience. I worked on reception most days, greeting the clients and booking them in. i completed several questionnaires over the phone in order to find out what clients were looking for and what events we could hold to interest them. I organised the retail area, making it look presentable for the clients.
My biggest achievement there was helping promote, organise and run an event for the women of the Royal Bank of Scotland.

In October Decleor came back to train us in the advanced facial: this started with a back massage to relax the client, followed by a back and face analysis, where areas of congestion or redness would show problems in different organs of the body.
